Program Manager, Regional Aircraft Accounts

Job Description:

Saab, Inc. is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Program Manager for its Operations team, primarily focusing on the Regional Aircraft business.  The Program Manager will be an experienced professional with a comprehensive understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures. Day-to-day activities will include proposal preparation, interfacing with internal and external customers, management of key customers, development of new business, and monitor the delivery of goods and services to the customers. The Program Manager should possess the skills to guide others on a technical team, and they will be able lead the development and management of program plans. The Program Manager will be to influence other business areas without direct authority and have experience working with customers globally. 

The Program Manager reports directly to the Director of Product Support within the Saab, Inc. Operations team.

  • Leads effective engagement in customer interface; ability to effectively present results/content to internal and external customers in technical and program reviews  

  • Ability to influence and advise on competitive proposals 

  • Understands customer organization, key stakeholders, procurement process and budget

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through mentorship and guidance. 

  • Communication and effective interface with senior management 

  • Management of customer relationships

  • Ability to identify new business opportunities and lead proposal efforts

  • Understand company products and services to develop customer specific solutions.

  • Develop business level financial analysis supporting BD modeling.

  • Understand the regional aircraft market and competitors

  • Leads the development and management of program plans

  • Ability to develop and execute plans to meet technical requirements, schedule, and       contract commitments 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through mentorship and guidance 

  • Influence and management of customer expectations

  • Ability to establish, communicate and manage strategic vision, missions, and goals of large program organizations.

  • Works with internal or external customers to define solutions.

  • Reviews complex domestic, international or commercial proposals for compliance with requirements of Request for Proposal, with particular focus on identification and mitigation/elimination of “proposal risk” and “execution risk”.

  • Excellent internal and external negotiation skills.  

  • Ability to train less experienced professionals.

  • Good presentation, leadership and team‐building skills. 

Compensation Range: $104,300-$133,000

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in engineering, business or related discipline.

  • 8+ years of experience

  • In depth knowledge of the aerospace industry, to include the sale of aircraft parts and services, airline customers and operations, and other original equipment manufacturers.

  • Previous experience working for an airline, airframe manufacturer, or other component manufacturer

  • Familiar with the FAA and EASA airworthiness regulations

  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% in support of program and business development efforts. (some of that travel is International)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experienced in business development and developing competitive proposals

  • Experienced in creating financial model

  • Experienced in leading teams

  • Experience working with  commercial, and foreign customers

  • Experience working in Oracle, Salesforce, or similar programs


Desired Education:

  • MBA or JD

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
